About me and my practice
I am a fully qualified Person-Centred counsellor; I have experience with helping clients to manage and cope with anxiety, depression, relationship issues, low self-esteem, trauma, bereavement and childhood abuse. I have a special interest in childhood emotional neglect and I have experience in working with clients who are dealing with a medical diagnosis (their own or someone elses)
Whatever your reason for seeking counselling is, I will be alongside you in the process.
Starting Counselling can be daunting at first, but today you made the first courageous step, and my aim will be to work at a pace that feels comfortable and respectful for you.
Person-Centred Counselling puts you-the client at the centre of the work. It follows your lead. It may help to process anything you choose to bring to your sessions.
Being listened to without judgement, may help you to explore aspects of your life, whilst gaining insight into feelings or behaviour.
Counselling may help to process and make sense of your experiences, bringing peace or clarity.
Experience
During my early counselling training, I regularly volunteered for the charity Northamptonshire Mind. During this time, I facilitated various support groups, including an art and craft drop-in service and a support group for anyone struggling with anxiety and depression. I also volunteered at a support group for those bereaved by suicide.
I have gained experience as a counsellor at Rushden Mind, and as a school counsellor working with young people.
I have previously worked as a counsellor for Bedford Community Counselling.
I am now an experienced Trauma Informed therapist providing counselling services online, and face to face from my private practice in Bedford.
I have helped clients to manage and cope with; anxiety, depression, relationship issues, low self-esteem, trauma, bereavement and childhood abuse. I have a special interest in childhood emotional neglect (CEN).
I currently work with adults aged 18+.

Initial Consultation
We can have a brief initial consultation to discuss your counselling needs.
After this, if you would like to, we can arrange a first assessment session which is 50 mins and a full payable session. In our first session I will offer a safe confidential space for you to explore and talk more about your challenges, the impacts these are having on your life and aspects of your personal history. The first session will give you an opportunity to discuss your expectations from therapy and for us to see whether we feel we can work together effectively.
Fees
Sessions are £50 for a 50 minute session.
I have a limited number of discounted sessions available for student counsellors.
